BPOLAR – Mario Cucchi (KUKKI) e Magda Chiarelli (MaChi)

Working with artists is always a privilege for me, sometimes requiring considerable energy and resources, but always giving back more than it takes.
Bpolar, as the name suggests, throws us from one state of mind to another at speed. The photographs, shifting from negative to positive, remind us of the change that takes place in each of us.
Without direction, Magda Chiarelli designs the space around her, increasingly allowing her body to expand until it disintegrates, then reunites into a single molecule. In this continuous breath, she becomes one with her surroundings, the space and the audience, expanding towards infinity.
This is where Mario Cucchi's photographs come into play, capturing the moment and creating a snapshot that freezes that spark of energy in time and for time, allowing us to experience it longer and even beyond the physicality of presence.
Space and time thus unite in a unity which, if it could be defined, would allow us to solve one of the enigmas that justify our existence.

During the presentation, there will be a performance by Magda Chiarelli, aka MaChi, in the form of butoh.
Butoh (舞踏) is a genre of contemporary Japanese dance theatre that emerged after World War II, exploring the human psyche, the unconscious and the drama of life through physical expression. Characterised by an aesthetic that does not distinguish between “beautiful” and “ugly” and by movements that evoke transformation and metamorphosis, butoh is inspired by both Western influences (such as Artaud's theatre and performance art) and Japanese influences (such as shamanic dances and the wabi-sabi aesthetic).
