FEDERICO LEMOINE “mise en abyme”

Almach Art Gallery opens its new exhibition season with the debut of Federico Lemoine's exhibition.
It will be an opportunity to admire the sculptures of this young artist in person, the result of over two years of work, carrying out a well-organised project over time.
The exhibition, curated by Luca Temolo Dall'Igna, was entitled “Myse en abyme”: the expression, literally “put into the abyss”, indicates, in the structure of a work, the transposition in scale of the work itself within it.
In the exhibition, this effect is produced by the placement of sculptures positioned to observe other sculptures.
The public, in turn, repeats the role that the masks already assume: upon entering the exhibition, we become spectators of spectators.
I therefore hope that the contribution that Almach Art Gallery is making with what is the first solo exhibition in an art gallery by this “young artist of yesteryear” will give impetus to the career and recognition of Federico Lemoine and his works.
In a historical period where the frenzy of “everything immediately” dominates in many fields, finding a young artist like Federico Lemoine has taken me back to those artists “of yesteryear” who made this fascinating world great in the past.

Mise en abyme": the expression, literally "placed into an abyss," refers to the reflection of an artwork within itself.
In the exhibition, this effect is produced by the placement of sculptures positioned to observe other sculptures.
The public, in turn, repeats the role that the masks already assume: upon entering the exhibition, we become spectators of spectators.
This exhibition unfolds as a narrative.
Its protagonist is a Man.
No particular event defines his story, except this: he begins to encounter himself.
he begins to encounter himself. He quite literally uncovers his being. To peer within, he shifts the mask he once built: a mask that, over time, had rendered him a stranger even to himself.
From this unveiling begins his journey, and we, as witnesses, follow the unfolding of his revelations.
We approach this voyage through a fragmented narrative composed of plaster, glazes, mirrors, and forms that divide and recombine: small windows into the discoveries of an inner path.
